On behalf of the government and people of Jos South Local Government Area, I extend warm felicitations and congratulate all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of our nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

Today, we stand with fellow Nigerians across the nation to mark a profound milestone, the 65th Independence Anniversary of our beloved country. This year’s theme, “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” is not merely a slogan; it is a powerful call to action for every one of us.

This 65th anniversary is particularly remarkable as it coincides with our Sei Vwel Administration almost marking one year in office. This parallel invites us to reflect not only on our national journey but also on our shared progress here in Jos South.

Looking back at the time we’ve spent together, I am filled with immense gratitude for your support, which has enabled us to achieve significant milestones. We have put our hands to the plough, focusing on tangible projects that directly impact your lives.

Furthermore, in line with our core promises, we have made Healthcare, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Security, Human Capital Development, and Social Welfare the focal points of this administration. These are not just sectors to us, they are the very pillars upon which a prosperous and peaceful Jos South is built.

We recognize the supportive leadership and visionary governance of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. His administration’s’Time is Now’ agenda has been instrumental in driving remarkable development in our state.

We acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of His Excellency, The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, as he steers the nation forward with his ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’. This year’s national Independence Day theme is a call to collective action that resonates deeply with our local efforts in Jos South. Our local achievements are a testament to the power of collaborative governance across all tiers.

Happy Independence Day to you all! May God bless Jos South, bless Plateau State, and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Hon. Silas Patrick Dung

Executive Chairman, Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State.
